Funerals and Memorials

​We will work with you to create the atmosphere you would like to celebrate their life. We will provide music for any or all aspects of the service, including pre-service music, any music required within the service, reflections, tributes and the exit.

The Service

We provide music as guests arrive, which is usually 15 minutes prior to the commencement time of the service.

If the funeral or memorial is a standard 30 minute service, we recommend you book us for 1 hour 15 minutes to cover:-

• music as family and friends arrive

• any processional music for family members

• the 30 minute service

• music as people exit.

If the service is going to be longer than 30 mins, we recommend you book us for 1 hour 30 mins.

For funerals or memorials that involve a full Catholic mass (60 minute service), we recommend you book us for 1 hour 30 minutes to cover:-

• music as family and friends arrive

• any processional music for family members

• music for the offertory

• music during communion

• music as people exit the Cathedral or Church.

We can provide music for hymns and any other part of the ceremony where requested.​

If the mass includes Rosary and/or condolences within the service, you may need to book us for 2 hours.

We are flexible and versatile so we will work with you to tailor the exact format to your needs.

Committal

We can continue to play music for the committal proceedings. Live music is the best companion for this most poignant part of the day.​

Wakes

At a wake following the funeral, we can provide background music as family and friends gather to share wonderful memories. You can book us for as long as required.​

Combination of Instruments

Although we are primarily a string quartet (comprising two violins, a viola and a cello), we do offer other combinations, for example:

• string trio (two violins and cello, or violin, viola and cello)

• string duo (violin and cello)

Our first violinist is also a professional pianist so if your venue has a piano or keyboard, we can also offer you the following combinations:-

• piano quintet (piano, two violins, viola and cello);

• piano quartet (piano, violin, viola and cello);

• piano trio (piano, violin and cello);

• piano duo (piano and violin, or piano and cello).

A group other than those listed above can easily be arranged to suit your needs.

Repertoire

Our repertoire is extensive and diverse and we play a range of music from classical to jazz and modern covers.

We will also accommodate specific requests where possible. If you would like a piece of music that is not on our repertoire list, we will be happy to advise whether your chosen piece can be suitably arranged for the combination of instruments you have chosen. If the piece does require an arrangement, an additional fee may be payable. We can discuss this with you at your convenience.

Attire

We wear formal black and are immaculately dressed for every function. However if you would like us to wear something other than black, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Cost​

Exact pricing depends on factors such as length of booking, number of players in the group, and musical requirements. Our prices start from $500.
